Free Risk Management Education
Free nonprofit education on risk and reward, position risk, emotional discipline, why losses happen, and responsible decision-making.
Understanding risk matters more than any prediction. This free material explains the core ideas of risk management in plain language. It is educational only and is not individualized financial advice.
Risk and reward
Any chance of gain comes with a chance of loss. A higher possible reward usually means higher risk. Understanding that trade-off is the starting point.
Position risk
Position risk is how much could be lost on a single decision. Educational examples often express it as a small percentage of an account so that one bad outcome does not cause lasting damage.
Example: with a hypothetical $1,000 practice balance, limiting risk to 1% means no single position should be able to lose more than $10.
Emotional discipline
Fear, greed, and the urge to win back losses push people to abandon their plans. Writing a plan before acting and reviewing decisions afterwards helps build discipline.
Why losses occur
Markets react to information no one can fully predict. Even well-reasoned decisions can lose. What matters is keeping losses small and learning from them.
Responsible decision-making
Only use money you can afford to lose, avoid borrowing to speculate, and seek a licensed professional for advice about your own situation.
